The Original Veyron: A 20-Year Tribute
Twenty years have passed since Bugatti began producing new vehicles, launching the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 in 2005. This groundbreaking vehicle was powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine, delivering an impressive 1,000 horsepower and shattering production vehicle speed records by reaching 253 miles per hour. Now, Bugatti is honoring its predecessor with a special one-off hypercar.
According to a recent report from The Supercar Blog, this new creation is set to debut on January 22 as part of Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire. The one-off pays homage to chassis number 001, the original Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which is characterized by a striking two-tone red and black exterior and a remarkably subdued beige interior.
This new Bugatti is expected to feature the same color scheme inside and out. Similar to the recently unveiled Brouillard, it will feature unique body panels. The vehicle will continue to be built on Bugatti’s W-16 platform, utilizing the latest iteration of the W-16 engine, which is capable of producing up to 1,800 horsepower.
This marks the second vehicle created under Programme Solitaire, following the debut of the Brouillard last August. The Brouillard drew significant inspiration from the Mitral, featuring similar lighting elements and a roof. The specific Bugatti model that will underpin the new one-off remains unclear.
Bugatti has stated plans to produce only two vehicles per year under its new Programme Solitaire. This offering positions itself above the company’s Sur Mesure personalization program, providing an avenue for high-end hypercar enthusiasts to create truly bespoke automobiles. The high-end hypercar manufacturer, like many others in the industry, has expanded its one-off and personalization programs in recent years, offering customers exclusive new avenues to customize their vehicles.
