Mercedes-Benz is stepping into a new dimension of luxury mobility with the unveiling of the all-electric VLE. This groundbreaking vehicle fuses the serene ride comfort of a traditional limousine with the ultimate versatility of a multi-purpose vehicle. Built upon the brand’s entirely new Van Architecture and powered by the sophisticated Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the VLE marks a significant turning point in the automotive giant’s 140-year legacy.
Designed for discerning families, high-level executives, and premium shuttle services, the VLE offers a spacious interior to accommodate up to eight passengers while preserving the refined driving experience synonymous with the German luxury marque.
Limousine Comfort Meets Versatile Space
From the exterior, the VLE’s sleek silhouette showcases a fresh design language that prioritizes efficiency and elegance. Its aerodynamic body achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.25, enhancing range while maintaining a commanding Mercedes-Benz presence through a reimagined grille and signature lighting.
Inside, the VLE feels less like a conventional people mover and more like a rolling luxury lounge. A sprawling Sky View panoramic glass roof bathes the cabin in natural light, complemented by ambient lighting and furniture-inspired finishes that elevate the interior atmosphere.
Seating configurations are flexible, accommodating six to eight passengers, with premium Grand Comfort seats offering massage functions, lumbar support, calf rests, wireless charging, and plush cushioning for long journeys. Mercedes’ innovative Roll & Go seating system allows seats to slide, reposition, or be removed entirely, transforming the VLE from a passenger vehicle into a cargo hauler in minutes.
A First-Class Entertainment Experience
Technology is the centerpiece of the VLE experience, especially for rear passengers. Hidden within the ceiling is a retractable 31.3-inch panoramic 8K screen featuring split-screen capability and an integrated camera for video conferencing. Paired with the Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System and Dolby Atmos audio, the cabin can be transformed into a private cinema, gaming hub, or mobile office.
Up front, the optional MBUX Superscreen spans the dashboard, integrating three displays: a 10.25-inch driver display, a 14-inch central touchscreen, and an optional 14-inch passenger display for streaming content or gaming on the go.
AI-Powered Driving and Intelligent Technology
At the heart of the VLE is MB.OS, Mercedes-Benz’s AI-powered operating system that unifies navigation, infotainment, and driver assistance into one intelligent ecosystem. The system features a conversational MBUX Virtual Assistant capable of understanding natural speech and responding with contextual awareness.
Advanced driver-assistance technologies, including Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Lane Change Assist, help make highway driving smoother and less demanding.
Electric Performance Built for Long-Distance Travel
The VLE also delivers impressive electric capability. The vehicle offers a driving range of over 435 miles (WLTP) and utilizes 800-volt architecture to support ultra-fast charging.
With high-power DC charging, the battery can add up to 220 miles of range in just 15 minutes, making long-distance travel more convenient. The top performance variant, the VLE 400 4MATIC, produces up to 409 horsepower and accelerates from 0–60 mph in approximately 6.4 seconds.
Ride comfort is further enhanced by AIRMATIC air suspension, which can raise or lower the vehicle by about 1.5 inches, and rear-axle steering that helps reduce the turning circle to just under 36 feet, improving maneuverability in tight urban spaces.
