Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage: a truly exceptional, one-of-a-kind reimagining of the legendary Bugatti Veyron, a vehicle that revolutionized the automotive world two decades ago and continues to stand as a pinnacle of engineering brilliance. This remarkable machine has been commissioned from Bugatti by a discerning, undisclosed customer.

But this is not merely a homage to what was once the world’s fastest production automobile; it is also a tribute to the visionary mind behind it, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, whose initials form the foundation of this car’s designation.

During his tenure as chairman of the Volkswagen Group, he championed the acquisition of the languishing Bugatti marque and articulated the groundbreaking vision for the original Veyron. As Hendrik Malinowski, the managing director of Bugatti, eloquently stated: Piëch “was a man who viewed the impossible not as an insurmountable obstacle, but as an exhilarating challenge.”
“His vision for Bugatti was unwavering: a total of 1,000 horsepower, a maximum speed of 400 km/h, all-wheel drive, and enough refinement to arrive at the opera either in a tuxedo or a ball gown. The F.K.P. Hommage celebrates this uncompromising pursuit of excellence, fusing the timeless proportions of the original Veyron with two decades of technological advancement.”
The F.K.P. Hommage is fundamentally based on the Bugatti Chiron, the successor to the Veyron, but its chassis and the majestic W16 engine are elegantly shrouded in bespoke carbon fiber bodywork. The design intentionally preserves the iconic silhouette of the original model while incorporating subtle refinements across several areas. For instance, the striking new three-dimensional horseshoe grille, meticulously machined from a solid block of aluminum, now seamlessly integrates with the surrounding body panels in a more organic fashion.

Larger air intakes were necessitated to accommodate the more powerful engine, while the Veyron’s signature air vents, situated strategically behind the occupants’ heads, have been carried forward. Other notable enhancements include the introduction of new, much slimmer headlights and a completely redesigned wheel set – featuring 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, both utilizing Michelin’s cutting-edge tyre technology.

The distinctive red and black paint scheme, a bold two-tone combination, was not a casual choice made by the mysterious (and undeniably fortunate) owner of the F.K.P. Hommage; it is the exact same paint scheme worn by the very first Veyron ever produced, way back in 2005.

Bugatti Design Director Frank Heyl noted: “The Veyron was the pioneer in its category, and within the realm of exclusive collectible automobiles, the first and the last of a particular lineage always hold the greatest significance. It established an entirely new market segment – the million-euro hypercar capable of conveying its occupants to the opera in the evening and breaking speed records by the following afternoon.
“When I first joined Bugatti, I was sketching out concepts for Veyron developments, exploring how we could evolve the styling; ultimately, these projects never came to fruition, but it feels almost as if Prof. Dr. Piëch could sense that we would eventually have a requirement for them.”

The cabin features a custom steering wheel, a center console, and a tunnel cover that were machined from solid blocks of aluminum, and these elements bear a closer resemblance to the design of those found in the Bugatti EB 18.4 Veyron concept car, first unveiled in 1999. However, the undisputed centerpiece of the dashboard is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon timepiece, which was integrated at the specific request of the car’s owner.

Bugatti’s 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, utilized in both the Veyron and the Chiron, remains an extraordinary feat of engineering and packaging. By staggering the cylinders in a compact, wide-bank arrangement, engineers managed to compress a powerplant that typically spans approximately one meter into a remarkably slender 645 millimeters. This innovative configuration allowed for the Veyron to maintain a surprisingly compact wheelbase of 2,700 mm – roughly equivalent to the wheelbase of a BMW 3 Series.
The F.K.P. Hommage is propelled by the final and more potent iteration of the W16 engine borrowed from the Chiron Super Sport, delivering a staggering 1,578 bhp, which enabled that model to achieve Piëch’s ambitious goal of surpassing 300 miles per hour. In comparison to the Veyron’s ‘modest’ 987 bhp version of this engine, the Hommage boasts larger turbochargers, enhanced intercooler systems, upgraded cooling infrastructure, and a reinforced gearbox engineered to withstand the colossal 1,600 Nm of torque that the engine produces.
The F.K.P. Hommage represents the second creation to emerge from Bugatti’s Solitaire program, which, it is understood, will produce a maximum of two exclusive ‘masterpieces’ each year. Each project involves the designers completely redesigning the exterior bodywork and interior of the underlying vehicle chosen as the base model. The Solitaire program also offers an unparalleled degree of personalization for its customers, frequently drawing inspiration from Bugatti’s illustrious heritage.
